Nosgoth

Nosgoth was my first project in my new role as Production and Design Support Lead. I had to build a team and then define what we were doing on this project. We were mainly created to help with milestone reviews and deep dives on design and production related things, which is exactly what we did.

On Nosgoth this meant constant playtesting as it was a multiplayer only game. There was a lot of balancing of abilities and classes, making sure the asymmetrical gameplay was fair and doing it’s job, and just generally keeping things on track with the milestone deliveries and reviews.

  • Define the role of a new team for Square Enix and find our place on Nosgoth and future projects

  • Organise and host weekly playtests

  • Gather feedback from playtests, compile and share it

  • Draw conclusions from tracked feedback over time to highlight issues and present solutions

  • Regular reviews of ability and class balance in the face of new content coming in

  • Monthly milestone reviews and feedback

  • Constant gameplay reviews

  • UI/UX reviews
